My Take
Candice King won the world over as Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries, but what interests me is the artist beneath the role. A Houston native, she is not just a screen presence but a singer-songwriter who writes her own material, which gives her a creative range many of her peers lack. She paid her dues with small parts in films like Juno and How I Met Your Mother before breaking through, then nurtured one character across spin-offs like The Originals. That patience and craft impress me. Behind the warmth and easy charm, I see a genuine grafter, and that is what makes her worth following.
