My Take
What I admire most about Carla Esparza is her stubborn refusal to fade. Standing just 155 cm, she became the inaugural UFC women's strawweight champion, lost it, and clawed her way back to a second reign years later. That kind of resilience interests me far more than flashy highlight-reel power. Her grinding, grappling-heavy style is the work of a craftsman, not a showman. Coming up from a Torrance high school to the top of the sport, she embodies the patient, blue-collar fighter I always find myself rooting for. A quietly formidable champion.
