Carole Bayer Sager

Carole Bayer Sager is, to me, one of the great unsung architects of American pop. Lyricists rarely get the spotlight, yet she earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and an Academy Award, which tells you how much her words mattered. What I admire is the range: she sings, writes lyrics, composes, and paints, refusing to be boxed into a single craft. Writing words that lodge in millions of hearts is harder than it looks, and she made it sound effortless across decades. That she is still creating commands real respect from me.
