Jurina Matsui

I have a soft spot for performers who got handed the spotlight way too young and somehow didn't crack under it, and Jurina is exactly that. A kid out of Kasugai in Aichi, parked at center stage while still basically in middle school, carrying the weight of being the face of a group for years on end. That's a brutal amount of pressure to swallow while still smiling for the cameras, and the fact that she had rough patches, stepped back, and then walked right back onto the stage tells me she's tougher than she ever let on. What I like now is watching her shift into a phase where she gets to speak in her own voice as a TV personality and YouTuber, off the leash of the idol machine. I'm rooting for her to keep raising hell at her own pace.
