Casanova

Casanova is a quintessential Brooklyn story, and that's exactly why he holds my interest. The local buzz around his debut single 'Don't Run' opened the door to deals with Memphis Bleek's Warehouse Music Group and Jay-Z's Roc Nation, the classic come-up from the block to the boardroom. What pulls me in isn't the resume but the voice: there's a grit you can't manufacture. His career stopped in 2020, when he was indicted on federal racketeering charges tied to his Bloods set and later sentenced to 15 years, and that has to be kept separate from any praise of the music.
