My Take
Chamique Holdsclaw is, to me, an authentic legend. Her Tennessee years, the 1998 Sullivan and Honda Awards, and her 2018 Hall of Fame induction would alone secure her place in the game. Her story also includes a 2012 attack on an ex-partner's car, for which she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, and what moves me most is her openness about the mental health struggles behind it. By speaking honestly about her battles, she redefined strength itself, showing that courage includes vulnerability.
