Colm Meaney

Colm Meaney is the sort of actor I treasure: the dependable backbone of everything he's in. Many know him as Chief O'Brien from Star Trek, but the Dubliner has seven Irish Film & Television Academy nominations and two wins to show his range runs far deeper. He's rarely the lead, yet his presence lends scenes genuine body and warmth, the mark of someone forged on stage. I'll always prefer this kind of craftsman, the one who earns trust through reliability rather than flash. He's a working actor's actor, and the screen is better for him.
