Courtney Kemp Agboh

Courtney Kemp commands real respect from me as a creator who built her own empire from the writers' room up. After sharpening her craft on The Good Wife, she went on to create the entire Power universe for Starz, a sprawling crime franchise that became a cultural phenomenon. Becoming a showrunner is hard; doing it as a Black woman in the male-dominated world of crime drama is a genuine feat. I admire how she centers characters and worlds that mainstream television long overlooked. She's a behind-the-scenes architect, but the kind whose fingerprints define what we actually watch.
