Cush Jumbo

What draws me to Cush Jumbo is her quiet, controlled intensity. From Lucca Quinn in The Good Wife and The Good Fight to June Lenker in Criminal Record, she gravitates toward roles that demand intelligence and moral backbone, and she never overplays them. A Lambeth-raised stage actor who is also a writer and an OBE, she carries that pedigree without a trace of vanity. She isn't a tabloid celebrity; she's a craftsperson who earns trust the slow way. I admire performers who let the work speak, and I genuinely hope to follow her career for many years to come.
