Daitetsu Tadamitsu

There's something about a sumo wrestler that just commands respect before you even know a single thing about them — and Daitetsu Tadamitsu is exactly that kind of figure for me. Scorpios don't quit, and you don't last in professional sumo without that exact flavor of stubborn, quietly ferocious willpower. He stepped onto the dohyo at fourteen, still in junior high, and climbed all the way to komusubi — guys like him let the ring do the talking. There's a particular kind of dignity that comes with a career built entirely on your own body and nerve, and I find that genuinely moving. Old-school, no frills, all grit.
