My Take
Damo Suzuki is, to me, one of the most poetic figures in modern music. Born in Kobe in 1950, he drifted to Europe and was discovered busking in Munich by members of Can, becoming the voice of their most adventurous Krautrock years from 1970 to 1973. His whole career was built on improvisation and surrender to the moment, a philosophy he carried until his death in 2024. I find his fearless, borderless creativity deeply inspiring. He crossed languages, countries and genres without hesitation, and that courage is exactly why his legacy still resonates with me.
