My Take
Dan Crenshaw fascinates me less for his politics than for the sheer distance between his two lives. Born in Aberdeen, schooled at Tufts, then a Navy SEAL who served in Afghanistan and came home with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart — that is a resume forged under fire. To then walk into the very different combat of Congress takes a particular kind of nerve. People will line up on either side of the man, and that is their right, but the discipline it took to rebuild after a battlefield wound and keep pushing forward is something I genuinely admire, whatever you make of his party.
