Dan Nigro

Dan Nigro might be the most exciting figure working behind today's pop, and I follow his output closely. He started as a frontman in the indie band As Tall as Lions before reinventing himself as the producer-songwriter who helped launch Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan, with credits stretching to Lorde, Kylie Minogue and Caroline Polachek. What I value is his instinct for serving the artist rather than himself, sculpting each singer's identity into something genuinely commercial without flattening it. His Long Island grounding seems to show in that steady, unshowy craftsmanship. He is one of the names I watch most.
