My Take

Dan Povenmire is one of the rare creators who treats children's imagination with total seriousness, and that is why I trust his work. Phineas and Ferb bottled the feeling of an endless summer, and the craft underneath that breeziness is enormous. He cut his teeth on Family Guy, studied at USC, and then built his own worlds, even voicing Dr. Doofenshmirtz himself. I love that closeness, a director who steps in front of the microphone. To me he represents the best version of mainstream animation: clever, warm, and never condescending to the kids actually watching.
