Eddy Cue

Eddy Cue is the sort of figure I find quietly fascinating—not a stage star, but an architect behind things billions of us touch daily. From the iTunes Store to Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Pay, Maps, and iCloud, his fingerprints are on Apple's entire services empire. A Duke-trained computer scientist who has been with the company since the Steve Jobs era, he embodies the builder's temperament: less interested in the spotlight than in making the machinery work. I have a deep respect for these indispensable behind-the-scenes operators, and Cue is one of the most consequential of them.
