Esther Yu

Esther Yu is one of those performers who genuinely earns both sides of the actor-singer label — she's not just a singer who dips into drama or vice versa, she's actually credible at both. I first noticed her through The9, the project group that came out of iQIYI's survival show Youth With You 2, and she had this effortless screen presence even in that format, which is hard to pull off when cameras are on you 24/7. Born in Shanghai and trained at LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore — that international foundation shows in how polished she comes across. Her acting work in Chinese dramas has only deepened that impression; she carries romantic leads with genuine warmth rather than just looking pretty in period costumes.
