My Take
Brennan is one of the more haunting figures in modern internet history. He built 8chan, then publicly repudiated it, a rare act of reckoning with one's own creation. What fascinates me is the arc from anonymous imageboard founder to type designer chasing the beauty of letterforms; that swing between chaos and craft feels deeply human. Learning that he died in 2026 lends the story a melancholy weight. Whatever one makes of his legacy, and it is genuinely complicated, I respect that he carried both the making and the regret. He leaves behind a story worth grappling with honestly.
