Hiranao Honda

Hiranao Honda is the kind of politician who actually feels grounded — born and raised in Atsubetsu, Hokkaido, schooled at the prestigious Sapporo Minami High School, then on to Hokkaido University's law faculty, which is about as solid a foundation as you can build in northern Japan. He maintains his own Instagram and X account, which tells me he'd rather talk to people directly than hide behind press releases. I get the sense he's more interested in the slow, unglamorous work of actually representing Hokkaido than chasing the spotlight — and honestly, that's the kind of politician most of us wish we had more of.
