Hitomi Yoshizawa

Whenever I think of Hitomi Yoshizawa, I land right back in Morning Musume's golden run, when she was one of the loud, beaming engines powering that group at its biggest. There's something I really like about how she carried that Saitama-born, straight-shooting energy onstage, the kind of presence that reads as steady even through a screen. What gets me, though, is how long she kept going after Morning Musume, in solo work and TV, until she left show business in 2018. I always assumed that idol shine was a brief, blinding thing, but she kept standing on her own two feet for years past it. She never struck me as the type to brag, yet you can feel the grit and warmth of someone who weathered a notoriously rough industry for years. To me, she's the dependable big-sister type, and I respect that quietly.
