Holley Mangold

Holley Mangold is an athlete whose sheer audacity I find inspiring. From Dayton, Ohio, she first made her name playing offensive line on a boys' football team, then channeled that raw power into Olympic weightlifting, representing the United States in the superheavyweight division at London 2012. That she later appeared on The Biggest Loser shows a willingness to keep testing herself in public. What I admire most is how she turned size and strength into a source of pride rather than self-consciousness, refusing to let anyone else define her limits.
