My Take
I'm not sure professional wrestling becomes a global phenomenon without Hulk Hogan. The man understood spectacle on an almost primal level — the shirt rip, the ear cupped to a roaring crowd, the 193-centimeter frame that filled any arena. As a pure technician he was never the best in the building, and he would probably admit it; as a presence, nobody came close. His passing in 2025 closed the book on wrestling's first true crossover megastar, the one who dragged the business into mainstream pop culture. A complicated legacy, sure. But every larger-than-life entrance you see today owes him royalties.
