My Take

Jade Pettyjohn impresses me because she actually completed the hardest transition in the business: from child performer to credible adult actor. Plenty stall at that bridge, but her work as Lexie in Little Fires Everywhere and Grace in Big Sky shows real range beyond the Nickelodeon days. At her best she disappears into roles rather than coasting on a fixed persona, which is the quality I prize most. She doesn't seem interested in flash, and that restraint reads as confidence. I'd happily follow her into the kind of low-key, well-written dramas where she clearly thrives.
