My Take
Jason Momoa is one of the few actors who feels exactly as large off screen as on it. The Honolulu-born Leo broke through as Khal Drogo and then carried Aquaman as a leading man, a trajectory I find satisfying because he clearly built it the slow way, starting back in his Baywatch days. What I enjoy most is the contradiction at his core: an imposing, almost feral physical presence wrapped around an obvious tenderness and devotion to family. He has since moved into directing, writing, and producing, widening his footprint. There is a human, slightly rough-edged quality to him that Hollywood rarely keeps intact, and I hope he never loses it.
