My Take

Jessica Stroup was the quietly grounded heart of the 90210 reboot, which is a tough thing to be in a show built around glossy melodrama. Her Silver had a vulnerability that felt real even when the writing went over the top, and that's a credit to her instincts. I always thought she was underused after the show wrapped; her turn on The Following showed she could do darker, sharper material with ease. She's the kind of actress who elevates whatever ensemble she's dropped into, and I'd love to see her get a meaty lead role that finally matches her range.
