My Take

Caviezel intrigues me as an actor who treats roles like commitments rather than career moves. Playing Jesus in The Passion of the Christ was a physically brutal, professionally risky choice, and he absorbed it with a monastic seriousness few stars would attempt. Then Person of Interest revealed his other gift: minimalism. As John Reese he barely raised his voice for five seasons and still anchored the show through stillness and that low, weathered delivery. He is not prolific, and his convictions clearly steer his filmography, but I respect a performer whose choices form a coherent, if uncompromising, portrait of who he actually is.
