Jimmy O. Yang

I feel an instinctive affection for Jimmy O. Yang's story. Born in Hong Kong and moving to America as a teenager, he broke into stand-up comedy before his English was even fluent, which is one of the hardest paths imaginable. His breakout as Jian-Yang on Silicon Valley showed real comic timing, and he has since become a genuine fixture on Netflix and beyond. In an industry that loves to box Asian actors into narrow roles, he carved out his own space with humor and grit. The fact that he writes too suggests a sharper mind behind the jokes. I'm genuinely curious to see where he goes next.
