Joe Sestak

Joe Sestak's résumé is the kind that genuinely impresses me. A Pennsylvania native, Harvard-educated, he rose to flag rank in the U.S. Navy before reinventing himself as a politician, serving two terms in Congress and winning the Democratic Senate nomination in 2010. His chest of decorations, from the Legion of Merit on down, marks a serious career of service. I'm partial to people who give to their country in more than one form, trading the bridge of a ship for the floor of the House. There's a directness to that path that I find quietly admirable, and he keeps speaking out still.
