My Take
For me, John Hensley will always be Matt McNamara from Nip/Tuck, a role that demanded real vulnerability beneath an unsettled surface. Coming out of Hyden, Kentucky, he brought a believable rawness to a character many actors would have overplayed. I have a soft spot for performers who anchor difficult ensemble dramas without chasing the spotlight, and Hensley strikes me as exactly that sort of dependable, detail-minded actor. He never became a household name, yet his work held its scenes together. I think he deserves more credit than he tends to get for that quiet reliability.
