My Take

I have a soft spot for the unsung hired guns of hard rock, and Mandy Meyer is exactly that kind of player. Bouncing between Gotthard, Krokus, the prog royalty of Asia, and Unisonic, he built a reputation not on a frontman's charisma but on six strings and reliability. That is a rare and underrated kind of career. Players like him are the connective tissue of a scene, the guys other musicians call when they need someone who simply makes the song work. Born in 1960, he belongs to a generation that valued tone and craft over spectacle, and I respect that he let the riffs do the talking.
