My Take

Levy is charisma made flesh, but I think reducing him to a heartthrob undersells him. Born in Cojímar, Cuba, educated in Florida, he built a career spanning modeling, television, film, stage and voice work, and that range is what earns my respect. Telenovela stardom made him a household name across the Spanish-speaking world, yet moving fluidly between screen and stage takes real instinct and nerve, not just good looks. I also admire the immigrant grind behind it, a man who arrived and built a name from scratch. He reads to me as a serious entertainer who happens to be devastatingly photogenic.
