Junior dos Santos

Junior dos Santos is the kind of heavyweight I will always root for. A boxer-first striker out of small-town Brazil who climbed to the UFC title, he fought with a directness that thrills me, looking for the finish rather than grinding out a decision. Cigano, his nickname, fits the warm grin that hides a brutal right hand. What I respect most is the longevity and the willingness to take damage in pursuit of spectacle. Still fighting, now as the Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA heavyweight champion, he stays loyal to the sport that made him. That devotion, win or lose, is what greatness in fighting really looks like.
