My Take
I'll be honest, the first thing that floored me was that height: 187cm of pure reach, and you just know that frame was built to hammer the ball straight into the floor. Kana Oyama came up as one of those golden young hitters Japan pinned its hopes on, a Tokyo kid from Edogawa who turned a giant's body into an actual weapon, which takes way more grind than people realize. What I love is that she never felt like a manufactured star; she reads as the type who put in thousands of boring reps so the one spike could land. There's a steadiness to her, an unshowy toughness, and these days she's open and grounded on Instagram in a way that feels like the same person, just older and wiser. I find her genuinely easy to root for.
