My Take

There's a particular pleasure in stumbling on a name like Kason Gabbard. An Ohio-born left-handed pitcher out of a Florida high school, he reached the majors with the Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers. He never became a household-name ace, but simply punching through to the highest level of the sport is an achievement most who dream of it never reach.
