Kazusa Okuyama

Kazusa Okuyama, born in 1994 in Aomori Prefecture, is listed as a cheerleader, an actress and a gravure model — three labels that in Japan usually get consolidated into one as a career matures. Hers haven't been, and I find that more interesting than a tidier profile would be. She's also a graduate of Miyagi University of Education, a teacher-training institution, which is an unusual launchpad; choosing entertainment out of that programme is a deliberate turn away from a stable path rather than a drift into one. She's with Oscar Promotion and stands 164 cm. What I'd note instead is a practical thing: cheerleading trains you to hold an expression and project it to the back row, and that's a transferable skill in front of a camera. If her acting work keeps growing, I suspect that's the muscle doing the quiet work underneath.
