My Take
Kerry King is one of those rare musicians who is simply inseparable from his band. Co-founding Slayer with Jeff Hanneman in 1981 and anchoring it for some 45 years is a feat of sheer endurance that I deeply respect. What strikes me most is the consistency of his ferocity; even past sixty, his riffing never loses its menace or precision. He isn't a stylistic chameleon, and I think that's exactly the point. He found a sound, sharpened it relentlessly, and refused to soften. To me he embodies the uncompromising spine of thrash metal itself, and I admire that single-minded commitment.
