My Take
I'll be honest, Kotarō Seimiya wasn't on my radar until I started digging, and now I'm quietly rooting for him. A kid born in May 2000, right at the turn of the millennium, swinging a bat under those wide-open Chiba skies in Yachiyo, then sharpening his game at Yachiyo Shoin High School, that's a story I find easy to like. He's young, he's still writing his chapter, and baseball is a brutal sport where the body is everything and one bad break can rewrite a career. He spent 2019 to 2024 with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles, made his first-team debut in April 2024, and moved to the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters in 2025. What I respond to is the trajectory: a hometown kid who put in the reps and made it to the pros. He even kept an Instagram and X presence going. I'm the type to watch from the edge of the field and quietly mutter, go get 'em.
