My Take

Lee Eun-sang's story captures the brutal volatility of K-pop in a single arc. He broke through with X1 in 2019, only for the group to disband amid the Produce X 101 vote-rigging scandal, no fault of his own. To his credit, he didn't vanish. He went solo with Beautiful Scar in 2020, a title that reads almost defiantly, and later found a steadier home in Younite. From Jeju to the Seoul School of Performing Arts to all this turbulence before turning twenty, I find his resilience the real headline. He kept singing when the system around him collapsed.
