My Take

Louis Ducruet is fascinating to me precisely because of how down-to-earth his story is. As the son of Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, he's part of the Grimaldi family, the lineage that famously includes Grace Kelly, which reads like a movie premise. Yet he went off to Western Carolina University in the United States and built a fairly normal professional path, which feels refreshingly unlike the storybook royalty stereotype. From an ordinary person's vantage point, the idea that someone from a European principality actually studies and works like the rest of us is oddly endearing. I find more to admire in royals who refuse to coast on their birth than in any tiara.
