Lucas Hedges

Lucas Hedges is an actor I watch with real curiosity. Coming from filmmaker Peter Hedges and trained at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, he could have leaned on pedigree, but instead he built a reputation on restraint. From his start in Moonrise Kingdom to his Critics' Choice recognition in 2016, what impresses me is how much he conveys without dialogue. The interiority, the slightly haunted stillness, that's a rare gift in a young performer. I'm less interested in his next blockbuster than in how he ages into more weathered, adult roles. He feels like a slow-burn talent worth tracking.
