Luciana Berger

What fascinates me about Luciana Berger is her willingness to keep moving in search of a party that matched her conscience. Labour, then The Independent Group, then the Liberal Democrats, and back to Labour again. Critics call that inconsistency, but I read it as integrity under pressure. Serving Liverpool Wavertree for nearly a decade takes real grit, and her elevation to the House of Lords in 2025 feels like a deserved second act. As a University of Birmingham graduate and a Londoner, she strikes me as one of those rare politicians who treats loyalty to principle as more important than loyalty to a label.
