My Take

Luke Bracey strikes me as the quintessential Australian export: trained on the assembly line of Home and Away, then road-tested in Hollywood across every genre imaginable. What I respect is that he took the thankless job of stepping into Patrick Swayze's shoes in the Point Break remake and survived the inevitable comparisons, then quietly delivered solid supporting work in Hacksaw Ridge and Elvis. He has leading-man looks but a character actor's patience, which I suspect will serve him better in the long run. My sense is that he is one well-written role away from the breakout people keep predicting, and I would not bet against him getting it.
