My Take
I have a soft spot for Matt Taibbi because he writes like he is throwing punches. From freelancing in Russia to skewering Wall Street and the media for Rolling Stone, he never lost that brawler's edge, and the National Magazine Award proved the substance matched the swagger. What interests me most is that he turns the same skepticism on the press itself, which makes him uncomfortable reading for everyone. Now running his own outlet on Substack, he is the kind of stubborn independent voice I think journalism badly needs more of.
