My Take
To talk about Michael Biehn is to talk about being James Cameron's go-to soldier. Kyle Reese in The Terminator, Corporal Hicks in Aliens, Coffey in The Abyss, three roles carved into science-fiction history in quick succession. Born in Anniston, Alabama, he never rode the glossy leading-man track, but that cornered, never-quit intensity in his eyes is genuinely one of a kind. Few actors embody the phrase scene-stealing supporting man so completely. I have a soft spot for heroes who fight covered in sweat and grime, life-sized rather than larger-than-life. He seems unflashy, yet he is the one you remember.
