Momo

Momo, the Kyoto-born dynamo of Twice, is one of those performers whose talent reads instantly even before you know the backstory. As the group's dancing anchor, she carries a physicality and precision that anchor every stage they take. What moves me is the immigrant grit underneath the glitter: a Japanese girl crossing into the South Korean industry, mastering a new language and culture while polishing her craft under JYP. Add the MiSaMo subunit and you see an artist refusing to be one-dimensional. Born in 1996, she represents a quietly remarkable kind of ambition, and I'll always root for talent that travels that far to shine.
