My Take
What strikes me about Nina Hartley is not the sheer volume of her filmography but the conviction underneath it. She trained as a nurse, then spent decades as an unapologetic advocate for sexual freedom and education, turning a stigmatized field into a platform for honest conversation. I respect performers who refuse to be defined solely by their work, and Hartley clearly chose to teach as much as to perform. Her Hall of Fame honors feel earned through endurance and principle rather than novelty. In an industry built on fleeting images, she carved out something rarer: a lasting, articulate point of view.
