My Take
Nora Roberts is a phenomenon I genuinely respect, not just for the staggering output of 225-plus novels but for the discipline behind it. Plenty of writers dream; she actually sat down every day and built an empire from Maryland suburbia. What impresses me is her range across pen names, romance under her own name and gritty procedurals as J. D. Robb. Critics sometimes dismiss prolific genre writers, but craft at that volume is its own kind of mastery. She made romance a serious business and never apologized for it. That blend of artistry and work ethic is, to me, the real story.
