My Take

I find Percy Hynes White an intriguing prospect mostly because of where he came from: St. John's, Newfoundland, about as far from the industry's centers as you can get in North America. Wednesday's Xavier Thorpe made him recognizable, but I am more interested in the quieter, more textured work in films like My Old Ass and I Like Movies. Born in 2001, he has enormous room to grow, and he already shifts between brooding and tender with real ease. I am genuinely curious to see which direction he leans into next, because the range is clearly there.
