Phil Heath

Phil Heath is one of those rare athletes who makes the impossible look inevitable. Seven consecutive Mr. Olympia titles from 2011 to 2017 — that's not a lucky streak, that's dominance at a level only Arnold Schwarzenegger and a couple of legends have matched in the sport's entire history. What gets me about Phil is how he came out of nowhere as a basketball player from Seattle, transitioned to bodybuilding relatively late, and then just took over the whole scene. His conditioning, especially his insane roundness and fullness, set a new visual standard for what a pro physique could look like. Did his reign end in controversy? Sure, but that doesn't erase seven Sandow trophies. The Gift earned that nickname.
