My Take
Rami Malek fascinates me because he weaponizes strangeness. Those wide, unblinking eyes made Mr. Robot's paranoia feel physical and won him an Emmy in a role almost nobody else could have inhabited. Then came Freddie Mercury — casting that looked risky on paper — and he committed so completely that the Academy gave him Best Actor, the first win for an actor of Egyptian heritage. I value him as proof that Hollywood's idea of a leading man has finally stretched. He does not so much disappear into characters as let them vibrate through him, and that slightly alien intensity is exactly why I keep watching.
