Rina Izuta

Honestly, what gets me about Rina Izuta is the sheer audacity of the move — you're from Saitama, you've already made it into AKB48 in Tokyo, and instead of staying put, you pack a bag and go to Bangkok. Bangkok! There's something quietly compelling about someone who can uproot herself, adapt to a whole different country's entertainment scene, and still come across as genuine. Singer, actress, model — she kept widening the lane. I don't know every chapter of her story, but the basic fact of a girl from a grounded, workaday prefecture deciding "I'll go build it somewhere else entirely" is already the kind of thing that makes you root for somebody.
